A trip that has\u00a0been much more logistically challenging to plan than anticipated is only twelve weeks away.\u00a0\u00a0 We have spent the last 2-3 months working with our local Central Asia rep in an effort to develop a workable itinerary for a 10-12 day\u00a0trip to Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.\u00a0 I had no idea the difficulty involved in securing a Turkmenistan visa.\u00a0 Getting into Iran was a proverbial walk in the park compared to this.\u00a0 Still, I am very much looking forward to the trip but there is still much preparation left\u00a0to do; we haven’t begun to concentrate on the Turkey section of the trip–which will be at least 5 days. \u00a0I look forward to providing reports from this area of the world–the farthest east I have ever traveled.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
