Yosemite Falls<\/p><\/div>\n

My 3 day visit to Yosemite ended yesterday and there really isn’t much more I can say about the experience that hasn’t been documented by countless folks.\u00a0 Spectacular and humbling are the two words that come to mind.<\/p>\n

I really need to start carrying a paper journal with me so I don’t have to try to recall all of my thoughts three days after the fact.\u00a0 My advancing age makes it much more difficult though I will try my best to piece together my thoughts over the next couple of days.<\/p>\n

The easiest thing I can recollect is the realization that I am in awful physical shape.\u00a0 I would like to blame it on the altitude but I have to be honest with myself.\u00a0 Though I did hike 16 miles over two days–most of it up and back down some steep terrain–I still felt completely spent afterwards.\u00a0 I most definitely need to lose 15 pounds if I have any chance to complete our 8 day, 60 mile hike through the Sierra’s in July.<\/p>\n

As mentioned, I will post more about the trip in the coming days including lots of photos.\u00a0 As usual, I took about 600 photos but only 10 or so that I really like.\u00a0 One of them I posted above–although I am not thrilled with it.\u00a0 I am becoming my own worst critic–one of my biggest character flaws.<\/p>\n
